For those of you who suffer from anxiety, panic attacks, depression or any other debilitating condition, you know far too well the desire to just be happy. All we want is to be happy with certain people, in our own personal lives or in those life events. My last couple of blogs have been about stopping, regrouping and leading a new life. (Check them out if you haven’t read them, yet.) But now that I have started on a new path, I wanted to share what it feels like to be completely happy. 1. I Eat!! I don’t know about you, but when I am not happy, food plays such a big role. For me, and I’m being really honest here, when I am not happy, I have no desire to eat. For others, you may not be able to stop eating. But when I feel happy, truly happy, I enjoy meals. I look forward to the smells, tastes and pairings. I look forward to my chocolate cake and decaf coffee that is just waiting for me after dinner. Whatever your problem area is when you feel stressed, know that it will completely do a 180 when you finally let go of the pressure and stress in your life. 2. I Have Energy Okay, so maybe I have energy because I’m actually eating. But really, I have more energy and people in my life notice. I stay up later and feel productive. I wake up earlier and feel refreshed. It’s amazing how making life decisions can completely turn things around for you. 3. I’m Spontaneous For anyone who knows me, they would probably say that I am an extrovert, full of energy. And I would say that I agree with them. I like that person. That’s who I truly am. Just writing and realizing this moves me to tears. Think about yourself for a second. Who are you really? If everything was wiped clean from your life, who is that person staring back at you? What moves you to tears? My Take Away…. Other than grabbing some Kleenex, my takeaway is that, if you allow stress and pressure and debilitating conditions to take over your life, you will never be your true, authentic self. People around you will never know who you really are. You’ll keep eating or not eating as is my case. You’ll lose steam, be less productive, and have absolutely no energy. So I ask you, is that really how you want to live the rest of your days? No? Then start making decisions that are right for you and no one else. Start feeling completely happy! Let’s keep the conversation going. What do you do to start on the happy train?
