Angela Smith, MA, MS, NCC, LPC
Angela is deeply committed to instilling hope in people's lives, drawing on
years of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families through
their unique life journeys. She finds fulfillment in helping clients experience
breakthrough moments and begin meaningful paths towards healing.
Angela prioritizes creating a safe and supportive environment where
individuals feel truly heard, valued, and empowered to grow and heal.
New clients can expect a warm, welcoming and nonjudgemental space where
they feel safe to explore their challenges and grow at their own pace. I
believe that therapy is most effective when it’s collaborative, so I tailor my
approach to each person’s unique needs, drawing from a diverse range of evidence-based methods. My goal is to assist my clients with gaining insight, building resilience, and working towards meaningful change, while feeling supported and understood throughout their healing process.
My process starts with an intake session to understand a client’s background, their current concerns, and create goals for therapy. We will then collaboratively create a treatment plan tailored to my client’s needs, drawing from approaches like cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, or trauma- informed care, depending on what fits my clients best. Sessions typically focus on building insight, developing coping strategies, and making meaningful progress on their healing journey. Finally, I am checking regularly to ensure my clients feel supported and moving in the right direction that aligns with their goals.
Furthermore, Angela holds a Master’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from National-Louis University.
Angela lives by the mantra “Love what you do, do what you love.”
