Virtual reality
What is Virtual Reality?
Virtual Reality has been used for over a decade with research evidence showing its effectiveness and efficiency with mental health disorders, especially anxiety and phobias. Virtual Reality is unlike traditional imaginary exposure techniques. Its unique technological capacity enhances the sense of presence to your worries and fears. Although Virtual Reality may not appear visually real, research has shown that our brains immerse ourselves into the reality, connecting the dots.
At Breeze Counseling, we provide Virtual Reality by a certified counselor, tailored to meet your specific needs. We begin by understanding your anxieties, phobias, and fears. Then, your counselor will tailoring the virtual reality sessions that are manageable and specific to exactly what you need. The idea here is to provide in vivo (in office or at home) exposures in a safe space. Your counselor may also add a relaxation section to your plan at the end of your exposure.
Did you know that Virtual Reality can work for both child and adults? You also can continue to work with your counselor as we will provide reports and specific data to your counselor to help you move forward in your therapy sessions. We also can provide Virtual Reality both in office and through telehealth. Breeze Counseling wants to provide the most comfortable and safe space to help you work through your fears and anxieties.
Virtual Reality can help with:
Animals, flying, driving, high places, sleeping and darkness, tight spaces, crowded spaces, public speaking, social situations, attention training, cleanliness, eating, exams, medical appointments, moods, school, getting sick, and worrying.
