In our field, we tend to see many of our clients use prescription medications to aid with symptoms. It is important to know how pharmaceutical implications correspond with counseling. This course will guide you through a foundational understanding of mental health pharmacology. This will include medications for conditions such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorders, as well as diagnoses like depression and anxiety. It is through this course that you will have a stronger skill set in mental health pharmacology.

Speaker: Renju James, PharmD
Renju James, PharmD, has extensive knowledge on the world of pharmacology, particularly in mental health. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Benedictine University and a Doctor of Pharmacy from Midwestern University. In addition to providing care to patients regarding drug interactions, side effects, and dosages, Dr. James also collaborates with healthcare professionals to monitor and assess the quality of drug regimens. She looks forward to providing mental health therapists with useful pharmaceutical information and answering any questions you may have.CE Units: 3 Credits
